The information below is regarding our association with the BHTA (British Health Trades Association)and the TFI approved codes of practise that we follow as members of the BHTA (British Health Trades Association.

BHTA basics of the Code of practice:
Objective:
To maintain and improve ethical standards applicable to companies which offer products and services to users and their advisor's and carers.
Code:
Products and services shall only be supplied when they fulfil a genuine need.
Potential customers shall be made aware of the services offered by the Local Authority, the Employment Service and other agencies where applicable.
Where a potential customer should consider further advice before a purchase is made, this should be brought to the attention of the customer, as should details of where this assistance might be sought.
Where VAT relief can apply it should be brought to the attention of customers, as should details of how they should go about obtaining it.
Details of delivery, installation, training, after-sales support, service and warranty shall be made available prior to sale.
Where a potential customer has requested information about a product or service, the customer shall not be visited at home without his prior consent.
Members will accept responsibility for the functionality, performance and quality of their product(s) or services.
With regard to mail order business, information as to any facility for goods to be purchased on sale or return, and the conditions upon which goods may be returned, will be brought to the attention of customers.
Members will ensure that their sales staff and their distributors and dealers have knowledge of their companies’ products and services, and are capable of advising customers of the provisions of this code.
Products and services advertised by whatever means should be fairly and properly described, taking account of BHTA guidelines on information (see schedule below), and in compliance with other relevant statutory and voluntary Codes (for example Mail Order Protection Scheme, Advertising Standards Authority).
Any company claiming compliance with this Code shall make it available to customers on request.
